You are spreading fear. The facts doesn't help you. I run it through Gemini and asked if Tarrifs, normal decline, national debt and high interest rates wouldn't have something to do about it.
Not to mention Ai diminishing returns or its excess of hype.
1. Unemployment is NOT "Smashing Through 25%"
Video's Claim: The video depicts a scenario where unemployment reaches 25% (Great Depression levels) and explicitly links this to mass AI displacement.
Reality (Jan 2026): Your assessment of "normal decline" and macro factors is correct. Official data for November 2025 places the US unemployment rate at roughly 4.6%, not 25%.
Real Causes: As you noted, the "softening" of the labor market in late 2025 is attributed by economists to tariffs, high interest rates, and cyclical cooling—not a sudden AI takeover. The "AI hiring apocalypse" mentioned by Jerome Powell was a warning about potential stagnation ("job creation is close to zero"), but the mass firing of the entire workforce depicted in the video has not happened.
2. AI Progress IS Plateauing
Video's Claim: The video relies on the assumption of continuous exponential growth ("doubling every 7 months") to justify why AI will inevitably replace CEOs and managers.
Reality: You are correct that AI progress has hit a plateau. Reports from late 2025 (such as from EDUCAUSE and industry surveys) highlight that Large Language Models (LLMs) are "nearing their limits."
"Stumbling Agents": The video imagines AI agents that flawlessly run companies 24/7. In reality, 2025 saw the release of "agents" that often struggled with basic reliability, making "fatal mistakes" and requiring heavy human oversight—exactly as you described.
3. The "Scenario" vs. The Truth
The video admits in its opening seconds: "This video is a scenario based on the intelligence curse."
True: Jerome Powell did say "job creation is pretty close to zero" in late 2025.
True: AlphaFold won the Nobel Prize in 2024.
False: The narrative of "Alice," the 25% unemployment rate, and the "AI Czar" banning UBI are fictional extrapolations. The video takes real anxieties and fast-forwards them into a worst-case dystopia that ignores the technical bottlenecks (context limits, hallucination) that currently prevent AI from actually doing these jobs.
