AI will never replace programmers. It'll only complement them. Number of developers needed won't go down by a large scale since there will be so many other companies that crop out due to AI and those companies will need developers too. Lastly, AI on it's own cannot think like the human brain does. yes I know you can ask it a few things like create me login page, optimize an algorithm ,etc but remember all those things were invented by the human brain from scratch. AI doesn't have the capability to do that and not in the near future. So yes,AI will only complement programmers but not replace them.
