What I want AI art for is to fill it with my own art for one project, so give it all the tools to replicate just one style of art for a project and then be able to dish out large sheets of media in one particular style. Say I draw several OCs, several backgrounds, several stylized monsters, and then I'd like to be able to pump out a few pages of sceneries, or have the AI provide me with a great range of designs within the same style. If I'm working on a game, instead of making each book sprite by hand, I could create several templates of how books might appear in this context, and the AI could use that pool, and some real photographs and fill in a bookshelf and desk in the background maintaining that artistic style. I think AI, much like 3D printing is a tool, and just letting a tool's automatic functions be the art isn't really enough for most people who pour their mind, body and soul into art to call it the same as what they do, even if it can look similar. That's just an echo of the soul, and very removed from where it was born. However AI can be used as a tool if we understand what we're doing! Just using a pool of visuals from a random amount of ppl isn't making art, but rather requesting a similar copy of something that exists already. If you think of it like stickers, you can see how you'd need to do something very interesting with those stickers, or be the one who carefully made those stickers from scratch, to make it art.
