Parents should be careful about any image they post online involving their child. That includes actual images of their child, because of people with gross intentions and AI.
I think this should have been a cute and wholesome moment. This rando AI loving dude ruined it.
At the same time, I believe we should limit children's access to the internet, even through the parent. There is a generation of artists that grew up in the online art sphere, constantly checking to see if their artwork got likes, comments or retweets from total online strangers, and that has had so much damage on budding artists. That kind of damage takes years to undo: "My art is only worth something if strangers online like, comment and retweet."
This situation can also go the wrong direction: if somehow the child sees the AI versions of their work these jerks are generating, they may feel that they'll never be as good as the AI, and what's the point of drawing. So many pitfalls for young artists.
