Lovely bit of fiction,
'AI' is a tool with very limited controls and is harmful at any level of development i.e. if someone decides to put it in sole charge of releasing biological weapons or launching nukes then it could wipe out humanity within about 20 minutes. But thats not the fault of 'AI' it's the fault of whoever gave it the power to do that.
