I'm no artist, but I am disabled. I was hit by a car at 14 and my previously high aptitude for drawing was instantly destroyed. I can see it in my head, and I can describe what it looks like, but if I put a pen to paper, my brain kinda just shuts down.
I use AI to make reference images for some currently unfinished sci-fi novels. Once I can afford it or am ready to publish, I will commission someone to draw for me.
