Read 9 tomorrows from Asimov. There’s a story of a human civilization at war with another planet. The humans you follow had lost access to the AI they used to do pretty much everything: including their aiming systems.
Science and math are long gone since we stopped doing things like that because we didn’t needed to. AI had it covered.
