Here in the Atlanta area, we have MARTA - and it's basically a joke. In fact, we joke that it goes from where you're not, to where you don't need to go. The closest MARTA station to us is the North Springs station, which is a whopping 15 MILES south of our house. So, to use MARTA to get to the airport, it would literally take more time than it does by car, even with the horrendous Atlanta traffic, because we have to drive down GA 400 to the North Springs station, park there, and wait for a train south - and that train will make 15 stops on the way to the airport. Plus, there are safety issues riding MARTA through Atlanta. So no, we drive to the airport whenever we travel, and we drive everywhere we need to go. The geography and layout of the Atlanta area makes it a necessity to drive EVERYWHERE unless you live in certain areas inside the I-285 perimeter. Out here in the 'burbs, driving is simply required. We have Uber and Lyft service, which is an option I suppose, although we have rarely ever used them here. I don't expect to see SD vehicles like Waymo up here in the near future, if ever.
