BIG RANT(you may read if ur feeling a bit hopeless abt art in the future, hopefully this can help a little) I truly hope we don’t turn out like the beginning of wall-e, just stripped off their humanity, just consuming, and consuming and just surviving with no true purpose for generations to come. Tbh tho, I feel like art isn’t going away and I’ve always felt like that. If anything it’s been growing stronger these past few years. Look at all the amazing animated and non animated shows and movies(spiderverse, arcane, K-pop demon hunters, nezha, Superman, fantastic 4 and etc.). All the wonderful musicals, the new mangas and animes that are coming out/continuing. All the games that are coming out(I don’t even need to persuade much it’s just GTA 6 and so many others). And just look at all the music! I’ve seen many artists basically create new genre’s or bend the genre’s to new possibilities and some that are so intrinsically them that AI can’t make. Like imagine if AI today was made in the 80’s do you think they would’ve ended up to the music of today? AI can’t do this or that rn and while they “can” in the future, humans have surpassed themselves over and over that I just feel like AI will never actually create something new. When AI takes everyone’s jobs we will get bored of the same AI slop and will have to make art for ourselves and for humanity again. the reason why projects like some movies, shows, games and the like are astonishing is because it’s the culmination of hundreds to thousands of individual people’s ideas formed to one product that has worked day and night for multiple years to make just one project done(and even if it’s just one person or a small team it will still take years of polishing and idea forming). Yes AI may be able to do this but if it’s needed to be quick(which is one of it’s main selling points) it will drain so much water that it will ruin another selling point which is it’s cheapness and can even endanger some places. AI is just so unsustainable imo especially with the sheer lack of laws, that I’ve felt for quite a long time it won’t last (if it did hypothetically take all art jobs, at least in the digital space). However in a sad note, it might take all the smaller jobs but I hope artists just take this as a challenge to surpass themselves beyond the average and learn new ways to monetize their work. Don’t conform to trends or to the industry, be so intrinsically YOU that ai just can’t replicate it (unless they copy directly from u then that’s an achievement). In another world maybe art won’t be so hard to make a living out of bc it’s just such an integral part of being human but oh well hopefully yall will realize art won’t be TRULY dead, just maybe harder to make a living out of than it already really is
