I hate the word "talent" bc of this so so much. No, it's not talent. I wasn't born with this. I hunched hours upon hours over paper and anatomy textbooks, sketching people from pictures and in the subway, trying to improve even when my brain didn't learn as easy as other people. I'm still not amazing at art. Maybe I'll never be. Ancients artists also had mentors who taught them everything they knew. Art isn't a talent, it's a skill. AI is just a shortcut and excuse to avoid the actual artistic craftsmanship behind true art. I would like to say it's cheap, but no, a 30$ midjourney subscription isn't any cheaper than a free/low cost art program, or a notebook and pen. People should stop believing art is a god-given ability rather than won through hard and diligent work. That disrespects every artist out there who worked their butt off to get where they are now.
