I hate this timeline. Rather than people recognizing that this technology will utterly destroy the ability to prove or disprove critically important events, as in a court of law, all I see are people focusing on the unremarkable and mundane fact that a sex worker who doesn't do hardcore content was shown doing hardcore content. That is not even almost the story here. Now, the media and even private citizens will be able to manufacture evidence of serious crimes against anyone they wish. Also, valid evidence of serious crimes can now be explained as deepfakes, so long as the person doing those crimes is high profile enough to warrant someone deepfaking them. Modern young people literally cannot tell what is and is not significant about current events. This is why the unabomber wrote his manifesto. Either you accept the world that results from the headlong progress of advanced technology, or you convert this into a police state, you have no other option. Either complete control is established over the private actions of private citizens, or people need to shut the fuck up and maybe realize that if you have made millions of dollars thirst trapping every simp within reach of an internet connection, that you have become something larger than a private persona.
