Really appreciate the no-hype take on this. What I've seen in practice is that AI hasn't replaced developers — it's just raised the bar on what's considered entry-level output. The engineers who understand architecture and system design are actually more valuable now because AI handles the boilerplate but still struggles with the bigger picture decisions.
