I was an AI art “creator” until almost 1 year ago - a week from now, it will be a year. After getting into an online community for a game and seeing all the art people were posting in its creations channel, one day last year, I decided to finally get into drawing - not just for doodling, but to legitimately improve. Mind you, I was honestly just kind of ass at drawing at the time. Nowadays, I can’t say I’m anywhere near the level you see in plenty of posts online, but the improvement I’ve seen in my drawing is incredibly drastic. Don’t think being able to draw is some sort of gift just because people are posting what is essentially their highlight reel of art. That skill can absolutely be built from the ground up. It doesn’t take a day, nor will it take a month, or even a year. But when you’re trying to improve, the best thing to do isn’t to compare yourself to these insane heights. Look back after spending time improving and realize how far you’ve come.
