The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has identified 467 crashes associated with Tesla's Autopilot. Tesla has reported that its Autopilot technology is associated with 54 fatalities. If anything, I think trucks using self-driving technology would have an even worse safety record because of the size of the vehicles involved.
