You're making an assumption that there will be ground-breaking discoveries coming out in the next year, and the next year, and so on. There's no reason to believe that. There's no mechanism like Moore's Law for AI. LLMs are cool and whatever, but it's pretty well understood by researchers today that it's a dead-end in trying to create an AGI. At least all by itself. Maybe they'll come up with some tweaks to make ChatGPT slightly better, but you can't get to the moon by climbing progressively higher trees.
