As someone who used to use AI image generation a somewhat decent bit (all was for personal use, nothing was posted publicly or anything) I feel like I could comment on this a bit
To start, I no longer use it for anything besides joking with friends once in a blue moon, and as someone who is taking high level CG courses and friends with quite a few people who draw, I’m now pretty strongly against AI replacing artists
What I will say in defense of AI however is it’s very good as a development tool, be it concept art that you have an actual artist realize later, or the use that I use it for, **code assist**. it’s way more practical and actually has a reason to exist.
But the thing I’m worried most about is music and how AI is starting to take that over, I make music as a hobby and to see that someone claims they “made” AI music discredits all of my work and learning too, and now understand how artists have felt for the longest time
