If a law is passed that bans using copyrighted work to train AI—then programmers will just restart the training process with public-domain art. You’ll slow it down but you can’t stop it.
As an author myself—I personally think it’s futile to throw a stink. I say we should embrace the change, try to adapt, focus on what makes human art valuable, and maybe even use AI as a tool to aid us in our own creative endeavors.
