Bottom line is the goalpost has always been moving. For the longest time, digital art using software was considered taboo, cheating, etc. In the physical art realm, tracing was considered lesser art. Now, ai prompting is considered taboo, cheating etc.
You cant gatekeep art. Things constantly change. From a quill to a pen. A parchment to bristol boards. Musicians have dealt with this for the last 30+ years with editing, post production, autotune, etc. and musician's still find ways to strive.
