I mostly agree with this, except that the unemployed humans could organize to create automated co-ops. Given that strong AI will likely be open sourced, that kind of thing is possible. The poor in developing nations could do the same. Really, the biggest threat is when politics is used to force people into poverty, which is a different thing than what you’re arguing here. That kind of issue has more to do with having a weak democracy than AI. It’s just that the consequences of a weak democracy are worse with AI. But the benefits are made better as well.
