People who defend ai art don't seem to think much about what it implies
Imagine soccer players being ranked by how good they're playing and how many victories they scored, while one person is using a robot to kick the ball around and is deemed a great soccer player
Sure it's impressive that he can use technology this way (at least some would think so), but can he compare to other soccer players? No. Did he put years of training, dedication, time and pain into it? No. Does he have an ounce of talent for the original sport? Probably not. Would it be outrageous if soccer games are only played by those robots while the actual soccer players get laid off or something? YES.
Edit: It's not even like that person would need to construct and program that robot himself, feeding it all the rules and such. It's like they just bought a cheap robot at the store or even found a free one to participate with. No work put into it at all. No improvement on their own talent. No dedication.
