its not new. Germany does it. They've been doing it for about seven years.
They had some of the lower ranking as well as the highest suicide rates.
They raised to the ranks of some of the top schools in the world in a matter of a very small timeframe because of this model.
Kids were doing excellent on their testing with Little study time
The kids were giving more break times and recess. They do two hours of focus learning and the rest is recess playtime and socialization skills and no homework. It has boosted them to some of the best schools in the whole world.
you can find a lot of the studies on TED talks. My homeschool counselor turned me onto it when I was overloading my kid with too much curriculum. I couldn't get him to learn to read and took this suggestion and he learned to read through playtime. He loved Legos and he learned how to read Lego manuals. It took no time at all for him to learn. It's an excellent concert. We have a model based on a workday, that is a good pay model for teachers, understandably as well as parents who have a traditional work schedule, but it's not the best learning model and leaves too much homework. homeschool kids do it but the community fights the kids doing it so early. I'm glad to see a public school. Take it on.
