"Replicating a style" isn't the issue. The issue is that the AI DOES NOT CREATE any part of an image. It TAKES pieces of art that already exists and puts it together. Now, legally, you are allowed to take someone's image and change it 20% or more and call it your own (sort of). However, like the example shown of Justice with the traffic cones, that was taken DIRECTLY from the artist, without permission or regards to copyright and barely changed. That's the issue. And, yes, if you have a copyright it doesn't matter that the world can view it, it's still yours. Try to sell Disney's Cinderella merch or Star Wars and see how far that gets you.
