I am an electronics engineer in southamerica and I am seeing the actual direction totally alarming and mainly taken over by corporate greed and "we do it or China do it anyway".
It is a "few win most loose" scenario with the most costly consequences in humanity as we know. With luck, every crashes, we go back to the 1700... a new start...
