talking with a lot of Techno worship guys i can say and confirm by my mediums that the current AI situation is hopeless, but... Not really in favor of the AI (sorry for the scare) In the longshot, of course, at first there will be problems that some of the big artists will have to endure, of course, now theres a lot of questioning since the Ai worshipping boys are currently making copycats images and AI's that can replicate the traditional drawing process to scam people... And that's the confirmation you need, they really didn't catch the attention of the big public because aside from making them look, the general public still prefers human made art, they want to know what's in the mind of the artist behind the picture, not the database behind the image that a nobody did typing words in a keyboard. As for the rest, there's people working on the legal side to protect artists, is harder to put a copyright clausule on every drawing on the internet but the technology can be regulated, the concept artists association already had spoken and even started a fundraise to press regulations in washington dc to AI models via legal site (also, AI images can't be really copyrighted, since that debate was settled in 2007 with a monkey selfie... yes the world is a weird place) so everyone that said "we hold all the cards" didn't really put any minute into researching anything, also some pages already spoke against this kind of technology, So, the things are looking favorable but ¿What can you do to help? -go se the fundraiser on the concept artists association and read what are their plans, if you want to donate go ahead, i won't be the one pushing you to do that, asdf -Don't put your work on artstation, it's a hellhole right now, deviant art had "tried" to make the place more comfortable for artists, but some sense it more as a cover than anything, go there if you want, also there's already some alternatives for posting your artworks "ai and nft free" like inkblot, but all are in beta phase rn. -Keep rejecting AI, you are the public they need to appeal, the non artist people doesn't really have interest into image creation and big business doesn't really hire prompt writers (concept art is more difficult and deep than "just draw things and we put it in a product" the only people they can hook is selling their generated pieces on the market for cheap (you know, for cellphone backgrounds and all of that) and try to do "commissions" things they can't really sell without actually scamming people, so yeah... Keep practicing. and most importantly, don't try to argue with them, they are delusional people, they are dishonest, the majority of the time it will end up in the same reducted arguments of "you are afraid that you will be replaced" that was debunked a long ago, or they will try to go for the legal route because it's the only way they can convice you and themselves that they aren't doing anything bad, wich isn't the case with, again, bad arguments, it's a vicious circle that doesn't really worth it. Also, there's a lot of troll out there that will post comment full of BS to you only for the lolz, don't listen to them also, they are dishonest too, and worse, they don't actually believe the things they are saying, so don't get sad and keep working, when this is over and AI becomes nothing more threatening that a assist tool, you will be grateful that you never stopped practicing. cheers.
