I feel that AI works pretty well, and improves very quickly. Yes, they are sycophantic. Yes, they are crap at following the news. Yes, they claim to know stuff they really don't. But. They get a lot of stuff done well enough. They can do a lot of crappy jobs very quickly. Like programming decent UIs. Or interpreting invoices. Helping you to figure out basic stuff that has been bothering you.
Improving your writing. Or checking it for errors.
Basic political analysis ie. What does legislators think about some topic.
I am thinking about using them to rewrite interpreters into compilers. I think they might be good at that. I use AI a lot. In my life. At work. They help a lot. You just have to be careful and not just trust what they say. They make lots of mistakes. But so do people.
