9:58 Being realistic, it's likely that spending an hour tweaking a prompt of an AI art generator will improve your art critiquing skills. The iterative process of seeing a piece of (AI generated) art, identifying what is good and bad, and trying to correct what is bad, and this hundreds of times with similar images (the same image with a few tweaks) within a couple of hours, feels like it would help you improve on how to appreciate art, and identify what is good or not according to your custom criteria.
Appreciating art requires intentionality, and the intentionality of watching the results and correcting them seems like a transferrable skill. A real artist would also start with a sketch, identify what they like or not, and improve upon the current draft.
Nevertheless, most of the AI art I've seen is shit, so I'm guessing AI bros are not really trying to create real art (which is what requires critical thinking and intentionality), but rather they're trying to create slop.
