This year I took part in a couple of recruitment exercises run by my organisation. Roughly 40% of applications were obviouslygenerated. We caught most of them, but where individual reviewers missed the signs of AI, some of those applicants made it to the interview stage. Unfortunately, this happened in far too many cases and some of the people interviewed didn't seem to have even read their own applications! AI was used to waste a lot of everyone's time.
I know of several occasions when people in my organisation have used AI to try to analyse a range of information and synthesise a summary report, but the prompts have not been quite right and the result has contained hallucinations or has regurgitated the questions rather than answering them from the material it was asked to review.
It can be useful, and I'm sure it'll get better quite quickly, but at the moment it's still not reliable enough.
