For me, as a university student I only use chatgpt to help me study or help me understand a specific subject or specific material I'm not fully familiar with. In that regard it helps me a ton in getting better grades. Yes, it can be helpful while writing reports on stuff but completely using it to write one is very wrong and very noticeable to the point where we have decided to kick people out of project team for doing that. I have re-written too much AI generated slop but it can be useful in giving you a rough structure for writing something you can work on.
