I work for a pretty large bank that is about to fire its entire internal support team and replace them with an AI chatbot. Having witnessed this thing be stupid and wrong constantly - sometimes to the point of casually encouraging major regulatory violations - I think it’s only a matter of time until one company or another puts too much trust into an AI and ends up getting buried in lawsuits. The cost involved in repairing the damage done to businesses and the economy by this stupid tech will be colossal and it’s all because half a dozen billionaires were able to convince every major government to just not regulate it properly.
