And He has placed between you compassion and mercy. Surely in this are signs for people who reflect.) And for hitting women Well yeah some translators translate it to gently discipline and i think they follow the concept of moderation in islam even regarding discipline But if women are required to submit to mercy and compassion Would they to be hit at the same time like how ?? 🤡🤡 So the logical meaning id to move far away Because in arabic the one word has various meaning unlike in english The word darb (ضرب) has other meanings not just hit And this verse proves that as well Surat al baqarh ( either keep [her] in an acceptable manner or release [her] with good treatment) Also god says in surat al baqarah (and do not transgress. Verily, Allah does not like the transgressors.) And its not with enemies only The same rule is applied to dealing with wives ,kids and basically any one ! Which proves that the translators are the one at fault here and darb (ضرب) should be translated and understood as moving away not hitting ! Also its to be always kept in mind that islam unjustiness in general and its punishable in islam Surat ghafir ( a day when apology of the unjust will bring them no benefit, and on them shall be the curse, and for them will be the evil abode.)
