Ummm, did you forget Waymo has giant spinning lidar sensors outside of it?
Also as a normal passenger there was no difference between the Waymo turning around first at the pickup point vs the Tesla picking you up first and then turning around in the parking lot. If you were just looking for a ride you would have had to wait for that turn around either way. The only difference is you either wait for it while standing there, or wait for it sitting inside the car. It isn't "smarter" of the Waymo to choose to turn around first as if it knew you guys were doing a timed race.
