The problem isn't AI art per se. It's an interesting way to use machine learning (which isn't true AI no matter how many people want to pretend it is) that can be used to create something like an artists picture but without anything that actually makes it art. Machine learning can't be creative, it can only create from what it knows. The problem is that the way the images used to train the AI models is unethical and stealing and no one should be defending this. Especially not the people who want machine learning art to succeed.
