You say there is an education gap. However, who are the people getting replaced by AI the most? Those that have committed lots of time and money to an education in programming for example. The problem is that technology is moving faster than anyone can possibly react or prepare for. By the time you become an "expert" in some field you are replaced but now you lost all that time and are likely in huge debt.
I also very much disagree with the idea that all this productivity will dramatically decrease the cost of goods. When does that ever happen? lol. Ultimately, I think there will be lots of new employment opportunities like has happened in the past but the issue is the speed and scale at which this is happening. Too many people will be displaced too fast and will not be in a position to take advantage of whatever new opportunities arise because of my first point.. they will have different experience and education. There is already a large mismatch between skills of people looking for work and skills required for available jobs and this AI shift will only dramatically make this worse IMO.
