The problem with this series of hypothesis is that you are ignoring the reduction of consumer goods and services impacting any company or corporation. The first 10% of the working population is going to suffer but the assumption in this video suggests the population and economy won’t notice, which is silly.
10% unemployment is recessionary as these people are no longer buying goods and paying for services, housing markets start to shake at this point and everyone is feeling the lack in demand for EVERYTHING!
Every business at this point has reduced sales and AI productivity is not going to save you. It’s a spiral to bankruptcy as more people lose their jobs and demand plummets.
Fiscal spending through the use of a UBI will be the only thing stopping society from collapsing. The rich don’t need 10,000 iPads or anything else, the economic modelling needs to reflect the eventual chaos and likely government action/reaction. It’s either bust or UBI.
