I work in fire safety consulting. From my point of view, the amount of people that are losing their work within the next few years will be much higher than stated in the video. We have seen in the last 2 years, that we have done a) much more projects b) in less time c) with much more complexity than ever before. We did simulate complete bus fires, battery storage fires in full-scale, rail car fires and many other things (writing concepts, reports etc.) using mostly ChatGPT. These were projects, that would have taken many months or wouldn't be possible at all before and would have needed multiple skilled experts, but it was possible to do this basically alone using AI.
The main point is: The generated product (consulting, simulation, whatever) is a "good enough" product for most customers, meaning that the experts were not really needed at all. It also means, that the AI-generated product is so much cheaper now that we are having problems finding customers that would pay for the "good" product that includes the expert work. We work for various industries (battery electric storage, rail and public transport, architects etc.) and we see this everywhere during the last months.
This "good enough" product is basically the economic definition of a disruptive technology. So my estimate is: Companies are in competition with other companies that are heavily using AI. As the AI-using companies are cheaper, they will set the new prices. This will evaporate complete branches in multiple industries, consulting, planning, CFD, coding and many other fields.
