Honestly sounds like entitlement to me. You're all terrified because the generated art is actually very good. If a human dedicates themselves to being inspired by a particular artist and the result is that the work they produce is very similar, is this an issue?
The only issue I can see is that this is really about insecurity and using copyright as an excuse for said insecurity. It's classic artistic gatekeeping and the root of it is fear.
The same thing is happening right now in programming with Copilot and ChatGTP. Some are terrified that their jobs will be replaced in a few years, others like myself believe it's liberating and necessary for the advancement of new technology.
