high level economists, like David, are just shills for industry, you won't get them talking about how the ai models demand resources and subscription fees (making it useless for developing countries unless they pirate the nets) nor about the surveillance state required, that they describe without describing it "mountains of data... data science" data that they don't pay for in anyway and that belongs to us.
these types just can't accept that economists just log and study the rules of the game and don't really look critically at it. without regulation and public demand, and a government that supports those through law, private industry will gladly enslave or make you irrelevant. Economists just gloss over that or ignore it altogether because they need business funding to continue their research.
