At the end of the day the only thing that matters is the end product. It doesn't matter if you typed it on Microsoft word. Wrote it with pencil. Used books to help them. Or used AI. All those are just tools. And we as people as we get older we seem to not be able to change our ideas to match the new reality. We hope reality stays with what we know. It won't. Refrigerators replaced ice pickers. Cars replaced horse carriages. Books replaced story tellers. If you don't take advantage of the tools available to you. You will be at a disadvantage. For Sanderson it would feel like a betrayal to his fans if he used AI. But as new audiences come up who grow with the new tools available to them. They won't give a dam. As for AI art. You can hope that they don't use the assets available to them because its immoral in your view. Everyone single one can create an image generator of anything they want right now. An art style. A character. Etc. They are called loras and you can put them in any art generator. All you need is a 4090 or smaller GPU and you can do one in an hour. Just like you can't stop the internet. Crypto. 3d printed whatever. You cannot stop AI because everyone has access to the tools needed to make them. All you can do is delay the really good stuff. And let other countries that don't have the same mindset to beat us.
