When people don’t have to grind their lives away being depressed because life is unfulfilling they can be inventive, creative, and caring. The work will still need to get done so supply and demand will have to determine the appropriate compensation to keep people motivated to do what essential jobs aren’t automated. It may be hard for private companies to want to suddenly have to pay much more in labor for their workers, not sure the best way to solve that but it probably involves cutting corporate pay. Maybe with a form of UBI we can transcend the desire for the kind of social status that causes greed in the white collar sector. 🤷♂️
