Humans do not create art when using generative AI--a machine creates it. Regardless of whether a user provides a single input prompt or 1,000,000 prompts, the user has no direct control over the AI algorithm that generates the output. While input prompts and reference content can influence AI's output, it does not control it.
Human authored works are eligible for copyright. Contrary to any claims of ownership or rights in AI generated output, such works are machine generated and ineligible for copyright.
I recently saw the term "plagiarism engine" used in reference to generative AI. Given how AI actually functions, the term is appropriate.
