Middle class is disappearing, people are losing the ability to own material things. We'll soon be living in corporate feudal states. I think Deutsch mentioned before, truth will always outlast the tyrants.. and despite some hiccups individualism and the enlightenment will thrive. edit: also don't quite understand the perseverance on AIs having different values from "our" values, because I think there is remarkable variance within human values. While many humans certainly do value knowledge, love, and goodness, there are emphatically many humans in the world who strive to exploit, hurt, and harm others and the planet for personal gain or gratification.. and these naturally float to the top of our control chains. It's probably going to be a human not an AI who robs, cheats, or imprisons you. Between humans and AIs, I feel like the human will likely always be the bigger threat in the room.
