Hahahah. I enjoyed this. 10+ dev here. I felt it when you mentioned Wordpress replacing devs, I remember those days too. Wow.
Do you remember that there was dreamweaver before that? A tool that was more like a drag and drop for frontend dev. Mehn! Those were the days.
Truly, things have come and gone, we are still here-ish.
Ain’t gonna lie, I use LLMs in my day to day now. It’s like working with fellow dev. It can the simple stuff really quickly. N also debug the complex. Well, more often than not.
I have done some beautiful things with it. Esp in the my weak areas, such as building really nice frontends for my ideas. But to be honest, it only develops to the level of the engineer using it.
