AGI is comparable to a computer imo Before, we used to have circuits which were specialised to do stuff, then we created computers which are basically general curcuits which can do those stuff with given instructions(function). AGI would do the same for those functions. A general function which can do the job of specialised functions. We still use the specialised curcuits because using a computer in certain situations are wasteful, similarly we'd still use specialised functions because for most tasks, an AGI would be wasteful. I expect a new Dataset Science will develop like how computer science developed. LLMs simmilarly can be equated to screens. Did screens ruin the careers of physical artists, yes because digital art did not require the same level of mastery in technique(brush stroke alignment, texture, material interactions). But that started a new medium of digital art. AI art now is basically equivalent to early digital artists making mona lisa in pixel art. Problem now is exponential development, the advent of digital art was not as controvesial as those whose works were used to showcase it's uses were mostly dead artists from long ago, now AI art is doing the same, but for artists still alive and working now.
