Self-improvement is kinda the definition of AI. All the real experts were asking for global agreements, standards and regulation for a decade now. We (as usual) didn't give a damn, till it's basically too late. Because we can do what we want, the East pushes the pedal to the metal and using AI in everything. And we can't compete with them even without the regulations. We're pretty much done.
