We said the same thing about cars replacing horses, sliced bread, factory automation, the list goes on. Arguably, hedge funds and big data think tanks have profits in mind, not global societal advancement. Command and control. Divide and conquer. If no one can agree on anything, we'll fall for everything. Also, we've coined the terms "AI" as a buzzword for LLMs, which are large language models. Everything is just code, which is just positive or negative, on or off. No power, no machine. :P The speed at which a calculation is performed. As stated, we do not have super intelligence. We do not have AI as in the hollywood sci-fi sense of the word. Most people think that's what we have. Lack of education plagues the planet still. I predict, due to human greed, we wont have super intelligence, and humanoid robots doing real work, for another 20-25 years.
Side note: A new tool has become available to all of humanity, like the internet. It's just a matter of culturally adopting to this advantage.
