What a boring take on this... I don't like open AI but this was just you shoe horning in some sci-fi fantasy that isn't really part of the discussion. You told it to roleplay as a cliche 'Evil Ai gone rogue' and were surprised when it did exactly that.
There's a lot to dislike about how Ai is currently being used and this isn't one of them
