Much of this fear of AI replacing humans comes from the pure materialist world view that denies the mind as separate and entirely non-material in its orientation and function. If on the one hand the mind is a purely material product of the brain, it means we have no free will, and all aspects of the abstract world are just a figment of our own imaginations with no actual reality to it. If on the other hand the mind is entirely separate from the brain and operates independently of the material world (and there is now a great deal of scientific support in the literature for this view), then AI cannot duplicate or replace it. Yes future jobs will change, but this happened with the introduction of various forms of technology in the past and the culture adapted over time. It is true we as a culture are already handing over way too much decision making power to various technologies. But I suspect that over time as the problems arise, most folks will begin rejecting the technology in favor of alternative forms of functioning.
