AI companies don't scrape artist as much as before, and most of its training data is real life stills. It only needs to keep training on that and learning anatomy, world physics through videos of which isn't infringing on art since its photography mainly. And alot of that is sold anyways by freepik or stutterstock or scraped off Youtube which doesn't use nightshade. Aside from that, even if American AI companies are rigorously curtailed by copyright authorities, that will just disadvantage American or western AI companies. China still has full reign over its social media, its artists and almost limitless training data Tencent and other Chinese corporate giants can use indiscriminately. Just check out OpenAI's recent 4o image gen. Its on a whole new level with anime and photography. And at the end of the day when all is said and done, what do you realistically want this AI industry to do? Its already a runaway train. Its not just sending shockwaves to the art community, its touching alot of other industries, including music, and film. It is now doing perfect voice in realtime, you can check Sesame AI to know if that is merely an exaggeration. I am a 3d artist, and our community is more openminded on how it can help with streamlining workflow. 2d artists should consider that AI won't take your jobs, other talented artist or animators, who know how to use this tech will take your jobs. You can resist it, and expect the industry not to change, however you all can see how that is going so far for your industry. Don't sit idle, this isn't a situation where you can burrow your head in the sand and wish it away.
