It's scary because I am seeing firsthand. I graduated college last year, and many jobs aren't hiring. Many jobs are being or are taken over by A.i, and it's screwing me a chance at life. How are we supposed to live if we can't secure an income? What jobs will be left if everything becomes automated? It terrifies me. I went to college because I wanted a good life for myself. I wanted a career and to be able to fund myself to travel and learn a language. Im 25 and still jobless. It hurts my soul to be unproductive and have no purpose. I feel abandoned by the economy.
And I am Canadian. I'm not American, but I am seeing a lot of this crap happening here, too. I dont think driverless truckers have reached here yet, but A.i. is here, and it's ramping up the replacement of humans and jobs. I feel like I failed somewhere even though I know it's not my fault the economy went into shambles. Covid played a part too and sped up the A.i takeover.
