Let’s be honest with each other, AI is inevitable. There’s too much money to be made by someone or some company with AI. Do not expect it to go away. I am not a big fan of AI anymore than any other artist. The difference between me and many others is it’s inevitable and I accept that. AI is the today and tomorrow, just as Digital painting is to old style illustrators and graphic designers. Artists like Boris Vallejo, Ken Kelly, and many others who painted their work with a paint brush and paint and re-painted and re-painted to get the work to look right had to accept the digital and technological advancements just as we now will need to accept AI. It is only a matter of time before AI starts to take over every computer using industry. What we as artists should be doing is we should be using what’s happening to us as the example of what is going to happen everywhere. AI is going to take over so many jobs and eliminate so many positions and people who are benefiting financially from the AI are spending massive amounts of money to keep society in the dark. Think about it, yes you are just an artist but what other industries are threatened by AI. What industries are going to be able to reduce their employee count, and the cost of wages. The highest cost to any employer are their employees. We as a community need to start showing the world the darkness that is coming, the darkness that AI is causing us as Designers and Artists because it will soon hit everyone else. Yes what is happening to artists does suck and it is unfair and we don’t like it. But we all know it’s the future, and we all know as long as someone’s going to make money from it, it will not stop. The question now is, are we as a community going to start making noise so people know how difficult things are going to get for them AS WELL?
